Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direction of the Director of Imaging Services the Diagnostic Center Supervisor will provide leadership and strategic direction for planning, management, implementation, integration and coordination to the employees of the Diagnostic Center Department. Along with administrative duties the Diagnostic Center Supervisor will perform technical procedures, applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Oversees quality and regulates equipment used to expose the x-ray image as well as process and organize the image in PACS. The Diagnostic Center houses Mammography, Computerized Tomography, PET, Ultrasound, DEXA, and Diagnostic Xray.

· Under the direction of the Director, supervises and performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation or other forms of energy

· This person will work in concert with the Director of Diagnostic Services to help facilitate a good workflow within the department

· Provides leadership and supervision as needed to provide orderly workflow and quality performance of duties

Works collegially with other Supervisors in all areas of Diagnostic Imaging.

Must be proficient with ACR and MQSA standards.

· Reports and documents problems relating to staffing, morale, work methods, procedures, transfers, and recommends action in personnel matters for those assigned, in consultation with the Director

· Adheres to prescribed standards of Radiation Safety; participate in the Quality Improvement and Safety programs.

Ensures appropriate recording of hours worked, adhering to hospital policy

Maintains records for equipment service and preventative maintenance

Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and facility regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified

· Requires team player, positive, can-do winning attitude.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • State of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist

  • 3 - 5 years of experience preferred

  • Leadership experience preferred

  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT), preference given to multiple modality registrations

  • Associate Degree, or Certificate in Radiology Technology from an accredited institution

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiology/management preferred
