North Shore Bank Loan Servicing Specialist (Peabody, MA) in Peabody, Massachusetts

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist handles sophisticated functions that have reputation, regulatory and monitory risk. The position supports the needs of our Commercial Loan Officers and Administrator staff. Some functions are time sensitive and must be completed with specific guidelines. Individuals are expected to be able to think independently and work through routine problems solving them with little or no supervisory input. Escalation is required for problems that could have broad customer or regulatory impact. Monitory risk related issues, where there could be the expectation of a loss to the bank should be escalated. Contact with co-workers, managers and above are a routine part of the position. The individual holding this position is expected to be a subject matter expert of Commercial Loan Servicing and therefore a resource to the department as well as to other departments within the bank. Cross training on all department functions is also part of this role. Individuals holding this position are expected to be polite, helpful and adhere to the department’s policies concerning customer privacy, escalation, and the transferring of calls.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Adhere to bank and department policies that relate to the specific job functions

2.Key new Commercial loans

3.Monitor Workflows in Identifi several times a day to ensure that service requests are managed in a consistent basis.

4.Manage Portfolio of Participation Loans – both bought and sold loans

5.Daily Review and sign off specific Loan Reports

6.Perform daily payments to loan accounts and appropriate scanning of payments

7.Perform Quality Control of Loan Maintenance and New Loans.

8.Respond to branch & customer questions concerning loan related functions

9.Respond to branch and sales questions on department call center

10.Monitor and Respond to department Email box

11.Daily, Weekly and Monthly General Ledger Reconciliation and balancing

12.Perform commercial loan maintenance as needed and QC the maintenance performed by others.

13.Cross train to back-up other department positions.

14.Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience):

• Associate degree preferred or equivalent Loan/Banking experience

• Must have at least three (3) years of banking experience

• At least one (1) year of experience in Commercial Loan Servicing/Operations environment preferred.

• Above average proficiency in all Microsoft programs.

• Comfortable with working with all levels of management including Senior Management.

• Must have prior customer service experience and/or a call center

• Must be detail oriented

• Must be self-directed and a self-starter
