Powder Painter

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for performing all operations of powder paint needs within the Paint Shop.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Perform labor operations such as loading/unloading of the paint line using the manipulators or forklifts
• Operate hand tools to demask product
• Powder paint machines and parts.
• Apply Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques to improve inspection methods
• Apply Problem Solving Tools and Techniques in an effort to assist Manufacturing in the elimination of defects

Nature and Scope

Reports to Paint Group Leader

Minimum Qualifications

Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable. High school diploma One year of painting experience Experience with a forklift

Preferred Qualifications

Three years of powder painting experience in a manufacturing environment Forklift certification required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

• Knowledge and ability to operate a forklift
• Effective communication and problem solving skills
• Detail oriented and self-motivated
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining a sense of urgency
• Flexibility with work activities; available for overtime
• Ability to operate pneumatic or various hand tools and forklift or other equipment as needed
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment as required

*Physical Requirements *

• Must be able to work flexible schedule, including Saturday and / or Sunday.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities.These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
• Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
• Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
• Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
• Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
