JOB SUMMARY:

The overall scope of the Production Painter is to perform tasks associated with the preparation and painting of equipment for the Port Macquarie manufacturing and service business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare sections, parts, materials and equipment for painting

  • Painting duties

  • Clean machines, related equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning ads

  • Mix paint according to product Technical Data Sheets and apply per manufacturer recommendations

  • Adjust spray gun, paint booth and mix room settings to achieve quality paint finish outcomes in a safe environment

  • Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections

  • Operation of machinery

  • Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards and make adjustments as necessary

  • General cleaning and housekeeping duties

  • General ad-hoc duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Proficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy including the ability to write job notes, read safety information and understand basic numeracy such as measurements, parts numbers and quantities

  • Ability to work independently and as a team

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Able to take direction and work as a part of a busy team

  • Good communication skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail
