Senior Test Technician - Fuel Cell

HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the organization and the Fuel Cell Test team. This position plays an important role in the validation of all new products. This individual interacts with all aspects of the organization, including design, test, marketing, manufacturing, and procurement, to ensure we deliver quality lift trucks that meet customer requirements and acceptance. Responsibilities:

  • Build, troubleshoot, repair and test prototype equipment.

  • Design and build test stands in support of test objectives.

  • Assemble, disassemble, and modify materials handling equipment and subsystems as required to execute test plans.

  • Perform light fabrication (e.g., sheet metal, welding, machining, etc.)

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, and provide recommendations based on test outcomes.

  • Communication of data analysis and test results through both verbal and written reports.

  • Identify and resolve development issues working closely with Test and Design Engineers.

  • Take a lead role in Identifying and implementing processes that improve testing efficiency and overall quality of validation testing.

Qualifications:

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree

  • At least 5 years of technician experience in automotive, materials handling, agriculture, or similar technologies.

  • Experience with machining and fabrication practices, manufacturing methods and tolerances

  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings (components, weldments, hydraulic and electrical schematics, P&IDs).

  • Intermediate understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid, energy storage, and thermal management systems

  • Intermediate computer skills including proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of tools.

  • Ability to operate lift trucks

  • Ability to meet physical demands of working on equipment (lifting, pulling, bending, and reaching)

  • Ability to work with limited supervision

  • Extremely detail oriented

Preferred:

  • Experience with instrumentation setup and data acquisition

  • Knowledge of vehicle CAN bus communication

  • Experience with Li-Ion battery systems and electric/hybrid drive systems

  • Experience with hydrogen fuel cells

  • Experience with hydrogen fuel systems
