Responsibilities What to Expect Performs the full range of work involved in major repairs, overhaul, maintenance, and troubleshooting on interrelated environment control systems, composed of individual subsystems, i.e., air conditioners, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, electronic systems, and all other air conditioning and refrigeration components, i.e., blowers, motors, pumps, valves, etc. Interrelates with management, engineers, other technicians, manufacturers, suppliers, and customers in developing modifications, new assemblies, substitutions, or corrections to equipment to increase life expectancy, reduce breakdowns and simplify repairs, servicing, and operations. Removes, installs, maintains, repairs, designs and test electrical systems, feeder systems, related switches, distribution panels, outlet boxes as well as a wide variety of electrical alarms, fixtures, tools, pumps, motors, fans, and appliances. Diagnosis system or equipment malfunctions and repairs as necessary. Inspects maintains, cleans, repairs, tests and adjusts electrical generators, commercial feeder systems, security light sets, light fixtures, fans, heating systems, appliances, thermostats, electrical equipment used to chill/freeze/cool filter air. Performs the full range of journey level plumbing tasks including installing and maintaining supply and disposal system and equipment such as: sewage, water, oil, and gas distribution systems; water fixtures, lavatories, showers, sinks, dishwashing machines, etc. Operates a variety of snow removal equipment and fixed and power attachments such as snow blowers, snowplows, Front end loaders and spreaders used in cleaning snow from roadways and large paved areas. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of mobile equipment construction and methods of fabricating and repairing body structural members, surfaces and sub-surfaces. Requires skill in use of body working materials and equipment to cut/fit panels, apply body filler, and to grind, and sand surfaces to uniform contours. Must be able to obtain license and operate a variety of Material Handling Equipment up to and including service vans, snow clearing equipment, man / scissor lifts and pickup trucks. Knowledge of shop mathematics to plan and layout work and measure materials. Skill to repair, modify, and troubleshoot major environmental control systems and sub-systems such as air conditioning, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, pneumatic, electric, and temperature controllers. Lifts objects from moderate to heavy weights (Maximum weight of 50 lbs, anything over 50 lbs will have assistance.
