Summit Design and Engineering Services, PLLC CAD Designer in Raleigh, North Carolina

CAD Designer

Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking a highly motivated CAD Designer to work in our Land Development and Survey Department in our Hillsborough office.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains our Department CAD standards and file system
  • Assists in preparing plan sets for storm drainage, sanitary sewer mains, stormwater control facilities, pressure networks, mass and fine grading, sediment and erosion control, and roadways
  • Coordinates drawing sets for multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Assists in creating road alignments, lots, pipe networks, surfaces and profiles in Civil3D
  • Download and process field data in Trimble Business Center (TBC), Spectra Office, MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Interpret and plot record deeds and plats for all types of property surveys.
  • Prepare all types of surveying plats and drawings utilizing research and the information gathered in the field.
  • Prepare topographic survey drawing/plats.
  • Perform stakeout calculations for construction and roadway projects.
  • Prepare as-built record drawings for agency approvals.
  • Works on multiple project tasks prioritizing responsibilities
  • Completes drawing/project responsibilities within scope and budget
  • Manages deadlines for on-time submittals to maintain the overall project's schedule
  • Enhances final plan sets with exceptional attention to details
  • Actively assists in the Quality Control throughout the project
  • Organizes project-related files per our department policies and procedures
  • Inspires high level of performance from the team

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in engineering technology or AutoCAD drafting
  • Knowledge of Civil3D and MS Excel.
  • Effective constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Proficient in MicroStation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Ability to compute, process and map field data.
  • Understanding of surveying laws and state standards for boundary analysis and computations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Earth
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as on teams
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
