Description: A remote Electrical Design Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time, direct position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of engineering experience or an equivalent degree and experience combination.

Electrical Design Engineer job duties:

  • Development of system interconnect schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings to support manufacturing and installation of aerospace wiring.

  • Schematic design, circuit board design and circuit analysis, EMI/EMC analysis and ionizing/non-ionizing radiation analysis

  • Responsible for risk analysis, Failure modes and effects analysis, requirements validation and interfaces definition. Provide component and assembly trade studies, performance characterization and specification, detail design and hardware selection.

  • Understanding of industry aerospace specifications regarding requirements for harness design related to power distribution, RF, grounding and bonding requirements, communication, and high-speed data signals, including selection of appropriate wires, cables, connectors, backshells, and other applicable harness compoments.

  • Support customer in electrical hardware integration and internal wiring from design to production phases

  • Travel 25% or less

Required:

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical subject area

  • 2 years" experience related to schematic, circuit board design, circuit analysis, EMI/EMC analysis, and ionizing/non-ionizing radiation analysis.

  • Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 2-D and 3-D CAD software, preferred CREO.

  • Familiar with existing applicable harness standards, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620A and AS50881.

  • Familiarity with design standards including: MLPR-17430, MLPL-13092, MLPL-128698, NASA-STD-4003, NASA-STD-8739.10

  • Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes.

  • Experience designing and integrating electrical harnessing for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft is desired.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred:

Analysis skills to be able to identify and quickly resolve/mitigate issues

  • Background/interest in aerospace (school/internship/work experience)

  • Experience designing Wire Harnesses, including creation of schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings.

  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, ASME Y14.100 drafting standards, SAE AS50881, ITAR trade compliance

  • Experience with CAD Software Zuken E3, Mentor Graphics, AutoCAD, Solidworks, NX, Catia V5, Inventor, etc. are also considered

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $80,000 to $1245,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
