The Logistics Industrial Engineer drives continuous improvement efforts partnering with functional teams including operations, IT, maintenance, quality, and contractors to identify and deliver solutions to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Service Level for Arrow's distribution centers within the Americas.

This role drives inbound and outbound process optimization, workflows and process mapping creation, workstations optimization, supports existing and new technologies (conveyors, AGVs, sorting and storing systems), and identifies innovative solutions to maximize the total performance and operating capability of each functional group in the DC. Drives the distribution center's best practices, technology applications, material handling systems, facility planning, project management, and procedures to ensure that business and project objectives are achieved.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the design and build of equipment and managing the implementation of improvement solutions for the production floor in the areas of personnel and equipment utilization

  • Design and build equipment for specific business units or customers to use

  • Develop process, procedures and testing for business units and customers, generally for distribution and production centers.

  • Create, maintain, and provide documentation

  • Provide support for business units and customers; provide technical training support - develop, update, and maintain instructional documents and process instructions to assist in production within the unit, parts ordering, facility layout

  • Manage implementation of improvement solutions; identify areas to improve equipment or personnel utilization on the production floor

  • Monitor implemented solutions and present findings to appropriate management groups as needed

  • Update manufacturing instructions

  • Resolve manufacturing issues, address production, design, construct, and debug operations and determine efficiency; respond to floor issues as circumstances dictate or calculate labor to production floor. Lead teams, mentor individuals with respect to production and quality issues, metrics and formal problem solving

  • Provide support to new equipment or processes development purposes

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Support data analysis, design, and implementation of capital projects, cost savings/improvement solutions for the distribution center in the areas of personnel, programs, and equipment utilization

  • Develop processes, procedures and testing for business units and customers, generally for distribution and production centers

  • Create, maintain, and provide documentation

  • Understand process capabilities through critical data analysis and in-depth understanding of product variety within the warehouse, utilizing tools such as Toad, R, JMP, Python, Minitab, Power BI.

  • Provide support for day-to-day warehouse operations, provide technical training - develop, update, and maintain instructional documents and process instructions to assist in operations within the facility

  • Manage project implementation of improvement solutions or new process/software introductions; identify areas to improve equipment, process, or personnel utilization. Monitor implemented solutions and present findings to appropriate management groups as needed. Update work instructions

  • Resolve processing issues, address process, design, construct, and debug operations and determine efficiency; respond to floor issues as circumstances dictate or calculate labor to operations.

  • Support existing automation such as AGVs, conveyors, sorting and soring systems

  • Identify practical and innovative solutions to reduce complexity and waste within current and future processes

What We're Looking For:

  • 4 years Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree and 3-5 years of industrial/distributions engineering experience required

  • Experience working in a distribution center

  • Experience with MHE, conveyance, and vendor relations

  • Experience in Slotting software, AutoCAD, VBA/SQL, Visio, MS Project, and Power BI

  • Experience in developing engineered labor management and/or engineering time standards

  • Safety first mindset

The Skills That Will Help You Succeed Even More:

  • An industrial engineering degree or master's degree.

  • Experience with JMP, Keyence and/or Cognex Vision systems.

  • Experience with SolidWorks.

  • Experience with Process Simulation Software

  • Experience creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment.

Work Arrangement:

  • Fully In Office : 5 days in office, Monday - Friday, in our Reno, NV Distribution Center. Based on business needs, longer hours or weekends may be required

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:

$84,700.00 - $137,500.00

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. The pay ratio between base pay and target incentive (if applicable) will be finalized at offer.
