Service Linen Supply Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in Renton, Washington

Service Linen Supply (SLS), an industry leader in linen supply and rental for over 75 years is seeking a seasoned industrial maintenance mechanic (IMM) for our headquarters in Renton, WA.

Do you like to work with your hands and solve complex problems? We are looking for a self-starter who is well versed in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting; has advanced knowledge of hydraulic pumps, motors, pneumatic valves, cylinders, and electric control circuits. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the safety and operations of large production equipment.  The IMM must have the ability to think outside the box for fixes and cost-effective solutions to ensure no production down time.

Job Responsibilities

This position is scheduled for 40-45 hours per week (overtime after 40 hours) including every other Saturdays. Days off are Sundays. Assigned shift may be 8 to 10 hours per day.  The IMM is responsible for assisting in the preventative maintenance of our modern industrial machinery that is equipped with the latest technology, as well as, auxiliary equipment, overhead conduits, conveyors, work stations, etc. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing any potential issues in order to keep the plant running at maximum productivity. The IMM is expected to perform all assigned duties in a safe fashion and in accordance with OSHA standards and directives, report any unsafe conditions or practices to management in a prompt fashion, and to perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Certification or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Systems, Technology or Mechatronics. Other similar certifications considered. 
  • 3-5 years of related work experience with industrial machinery in a commercial laundry, food production plant, auto shop, or Navy Shipyard preferred, willing to train right candidate
  • Strong electronic and electrical abilities
  • Experience with PLC, motors, and electrical circuits
  • The ability to read schematics and troubleshoot
  • Flexibility to work on non-electrical projects
  • An Associate's Degree or certification from a technical college/trade school diploma OR 2+ years experience as a technician in an industrial setting.
  • The ability to work independently and display a strong work ethic
  • High attention to detail
  • A stable work history and the ability to pass extensive pre-employment background checks
  • Pass a series of skillset exams administered by  Human Resources and Operations Department
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Boiler's License Grade 4 preferred, but we will train
