Must have some mechanical and electrical skills and perform minor maintenance tasks. Be able to follow and carry out written and oral instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations. Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment operation experience is desirable. Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and remain in a standing position for extended periods. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Good eyesight, manual dexterity and good physical condition are required. Must be able to work a variety of shifts including rotating shift assignment. Ability to function well as a member of the work team and willing to work rotating shifts. Good communications skills: ability to work well with others. Must be able to wear respiratory protection. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Email, etc.) Good verbal and written communications/Proven Team player Demonstrated safety record/excellence Background in Industrial or Maintenance Painting. Knowledge of Nuclear or Chemical Facility Industry Standards and Processes. General carpentry and construction background. As an Industrial Painter in Richland, WA, you will be part of the proven team in the Fuel Business Unit. Your work will include: Prepares the surfaces to be painted including washing, sanding, scraping, wire brushing, etc. Color matching and mixing and the application of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, lacquer, vinyl, wall coverings, and floor coverings. Makes and install a variety of signs and stencils. Adheres to established industry and plant safety practices, including safe and compliant disposal of chemicals including paint and solvents.
