We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Responsible for detailed research and development into and analysis of business disrupters, growth opportunities and/or innovation/technology start-up initiatives. Efforts include - researching and assisting with the analysis of technical feasibility, potential markets, competitive landscape, risk factors, business partners, and customers for in-scope initiatives. Development and analysis of future growth strategies. Assists in creation and execution of business model development including financial pro forma analysis as needed. Work to perform initial capability of start-up companies and innovation opportunities. Supports and provides appropriate due diligence related to Dominion’s Innovation Sustainability Technology Council initiatives.

Assists in the initiative-taking risk assessment to address project complexity and stakeholder outreach issues, consults with leadership to determine appropriate role for internal and external stakeholder coordination, communication, and mediation resources. Identifies and recommends process improvement. Maintains the document sharing site, leads one or more committees, and implements strategies developed by management to maintain robust report-out and committee evolution process. Tracks and controls crowdsourced ideas, and assures winning ideas have the appropriate support for execution.

Support Innovation Working Group in coordinating technical and business reviews with other Dominion Business Units, including DEV, Generation BD, Generation Construction, Energy, and others.

Note:

  • The position will involve reporting responsibilities at both either, Thomas F. Farrell II Building and Innsbrook locations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 5 - 7 years directly related experience in a technical role within the energy industry (power generation, electrical, natural gas industry).

  • Must possess analytical skills and project management and logical reasoning.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in working with others inside and outside the company.

  • Ability to perform technical research, to identify and solve problems quickly, accurately, and clearly.

  • Ability to stay on schedule with deadlines and demonstrate the ability to facilitate meetings and coordinate resolution through group meetings inside and outside the department.

  • Ability to analyze data and results.

  • Must be self-motivated.

Education Requirements

If degree preferred, then the degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience are accepted in lieu of preferred degree. Bachelors

Preferred - Bachelor's in business administration
