Parsons Corporation Health & Safety Senior Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Health & Safety Senior Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to foster a collaborative improvement culture across a complex exciting giga-program in Saudi Arabia. You'll support the Vision, Mission and Values of a vibrant Cross-City Services Assurance Strategy and Management Plans.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Implement the Cross City Services (XCS) Assurance Strategy and manage XCS level assurance activity, ensuring compliance with applicable QIC and XCS requirements. Provides tactical support and advice to the Delivery Teams while encouraging a collaborative environment

  • Supports the delivery of the objectives of the XCS Health and Safety Management Plan, including: evaluating the program risk profile and monitoring the adequacy of the management system and associated assurance activity, monitoring the adequacy of the management system procedures and recommending improvements, and determining the compliance with legal and other requirements and recommending improvements

  • Owns the XCS assurance plan relevant to the role and scope of works

  • Monitors Delivery Team compliance with applicable QIC, XCS and legal requirements

  • Supports the Assurance Director and XCS Assurance, Governance and Compliance Manager monitor and maintain the legal requirements register

  • Documents and maintains accurate assurance records, supporting the Delivery Teams with findings, recommendations and closeout

  • Carries out District level trend analysis and recommends improvements to the District and City level assurance plans

  • Supports Incident Review Committees within the scope of works, ensuring compliance with applicable XCS and QIC requirements

  • Provides functional support to the Delivery Teams when discharging contractually required obligations such as formal Contractor documentational reviews

  • Establishes collaborative ways of working with Delivery, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clear and understood, resources are targeted at critical risks and minimizing duplication of effort

  • Supports the verification of key performance indicator data within the scope of works

  • Supports the Delivery Team to develop and share innovation and best practice across the wider Program

  • Provides advice and guidance to other HSW professionals within XCS and champions the professional development of colleagues

  • Performs other responsibilities, such as participating in corporate working groups, associated with this position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • A relevant health and safety level 6 qualification, undergraduate or post graduate degree and chartership via a recognized Institution or equivalent.

  • 10+ years experience of working on major / complex infrastructure (preferably in the GCC). ISO qualified auditor preferable. Accredited incident investigation training (such as IIAI) preferable.

  • Extensive knowledge of Saudi Arabian legislation and associated codes / requirements. Extensive experience of assurance programs on comparable major / complex programs / projects. Extensive experience of international construction standards such as OSHA.

  • Proven and demonstrable ability to work with minimal supervision, using sound judgement and initiative. Clear written and oral communicator with excellent attention to detail. Ability to prioritise and react effectively, based on performance within their scope of works. Supportive and collaborative, both within XCS and the Delivery Teams. Strong technical construction background in a multidisciplinary environment
