The General Accounting and Close Accounting Supervisor is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial information in relation to journal entries, account reconciliations, variance reporting and the month-end close process. Assist the Finance Manager, GA and Close, in training, assisting and reviewing tasks performed by both the onshore and offshore team.

This role offers a hybrid schedule

Compensation:  The salary range for this role is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00. Pay will be determined based on experience level.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide accounting support to the Finance Manager, GA and Close.

  • Prepare/reference external reporting. I.E. Cash Flow, investor presentation, etc.

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and prepare/review journal entries in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Work with external Auditors on quarterly and year-end audits.

  • Become the subject matter expert on, and take ownership of, key business segments as it pertains to performing analysis and recording adjustments in accordance with the close schedule.

  • Prepare/review account reconciliations; research and resolve variances as applicable.

  • Prepare/review key financial reports used by accounting and upper management.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements.

  • Assist with special projects, as assigned.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

  • Review worked performed by the GA and Close onshore and offshore team.

Management Responsibility: Review and assist with work performed by onshore and offshore staff accountants under the general direction of the Finance Manager, General Accounting and Close. 

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with 4-6 years accounting or related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proven understanding and the ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills and is attentive to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Team orientated approach to tasks and problem solving.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) with the ability to learn new and existing company specific software applications.

  • Ability to manage large sets of data and complex spreadsheets.

  • Ability to take initiative in identifying problems, collecting data, and establishing facts in order to produce practical decisions and solutions.

     

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and fax machines.  Position requires prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to work occasional Saturdays and evenings as necessary.
