Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for an Estimator. This position is onsite at our San Diego North location. Facility located at7919 St Andrews Ave, San Diego, CA 92154.

Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego North office and reports to our President of Aircraft Products.

Position Summary:

The Estimator, reporting the President, plays a key role who will provide complete and accurate cost estimates that impact business decisions. Partners with other internal departments to estimate costs and profit for complex specifications/projects. Evaluates effectiveness of pricing strategies and modifies pricing structures as needed. Ensures that cost development policies and procedures are compliant with government laws, regulations, and management objectives

Essential-Functions:

• Develops detailed project cost estimates including project complexity factors and key input data such as project objectives, scope and economic analysis.
• Translates the identified project scope and engineering deliverables into the estimate of capital expenditure costs.
• Creates and establishes cost-monitoring processes that allow the company to track profit or loss for each project.
• Manages reviews and audits of cost estimates, formulates, and validate methodologies for deriving quantities from design parameters.
• Extrapolates cost curves based on firsthand experience of scheduled activities/cost correlation analysis.
• Ensures that cost development policies and procedures follow government laws, regulations and management objectives.

Required Education and Experience:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of composites materials and manufacturing processes highly preferred
• Strong estimating experience and ability to perform complex analysis.
• Previous experience with CAD software highly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
• Able to meet multiple and/or conflicting deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion, excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
• Bi-Lingual Spanish/English preferred
• Experience with SAP ERP System
• Experience with using Customer portals (Exostar, Boeing, Northrop, etc.)

Compensation:

The hourly pay range for this position falls within $25 to $30. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
