Northrop Grumman Staff Program Planning Analyst/SCHEDULER - SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED in San Diego, California

We are looking for you to join our Mission Systems sector team as a Staff Program Planning Analyst/Master Scheduler out of San Diego, CA. This position offers the 9/80 work schedule.

The Planner/Scheduler will become part of Northrop Grumman's Program Scheduling and Compliance Center of Excellence. Schedulers are hired directly into our Scheduling Center of Excellence and placed on programs within the Mission Systems (MS) Sector. The MS scheduling organization focuses on skill development and, most importantly, creates a pathway for professional development and progression. The Center of Excellence provides training within a standard, common tool suite that allows for speed, productivity and integration while facilitating compliance and focusing on program execution.

The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the implementation of standard processes and tools and program planning and control practices. This position will work within a team environment consisting of program management, technical, production, financial and other supporting staff. This is a subject matter role that requires mentoring of junior schedulers and will work highly complex programs, often as a lead of several schedulers in an operating unit or business unit.

Working closely with the Program team the Planner/Scheduler will develop and coordinate the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule to meet all program objectives and status the IMS on a weekly basis. The Scheduling Analysts will be expected to have comprehensive communication skills, involving written and oral presentations, and present IMS status and analysis to internal/external management on a weekly/monthly basis.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Works closely with technical leads on the program to develop and status the IMS on a weekly basis.

  • Ensures the Program's Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across company functional groups including finance, engineering, material, manufacturing, and quality.

  • Utilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.

  • Consults with the Program Team and provides thorough project analysis showing knowledge and understanding of the program and the principles of EVMS, and consults and implements processes and/or work flows to enhance cost and schedule performance.

  • Performs schedule risk analyses and integrates risk management processes into the program's plans.

  • Identifies and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts and performs predictive analysis for program management decision making.

  • Provide interface/support to program office, IPT leads/CAMs.

  • Mentors and coaches less experienced schedulers to achieve program objectives.

  • Support new business proposal providing recommendations on schedule methodologies and proposal strategies and develop an IMP and IMS.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years' related professional experience - OR - a Master's degree with 13 years' related professional experience.

  • Will consider 19 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement.

  • 10 years' experience in project scheduling using Microsoft Project, Oracle P6, Deltek Open Plan or other related scheduling tools.

  • Demonstrated expert knowledge using Schedule Health Analysis tools and Schedule Risk Assessment tools.

  • 10 years' experience using MS Office suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically 10% of the time.

  • Current, active DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Operations Management, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field

  • 15 years' experience in project scheduling along with expert skills in Microsoft Project, as demonstrated by an understanding of the tool's properties and functions including:

  • exports and Imports,

  • multi-project consolidation,

  • Inter-project linkage,

  • Ability to create a variety of views, tables, filters, and reports

  • 10 years experience using Schedule Health Analysis tools and Schedule Risk Assessment tools.

  • Working knowledge of EVMS guidelines and processes.

  • Current, active DoD Secret security clearance

Salary Range: $149,900 - $224,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
