We offer on-the-job training and paid ASE certifications and a new tool allowance! As an Automotive Mechanic, you will work a five-day work week, no weekends. Essential Job Functions**

  • As an Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of City vehicles and equipment.
  • Opens, closes, and updates work orders.
  • Ensures that repairs are performed to specifications.
  • Performs service calls in the field.
  • Changes and repairs tires.
  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical systems.
  • Performs air conditioning repairs.
  • Repairs hydraulic systems.
  • Repairs engines.
  • Repairs transmissions.
  • Assist master welder by providing minor to intermediate welding, fabrication, and cutting jobs.
  • Works in a team to ensure vehicles are operating at industry standards.
  • Maintains record of repairs to vehicles by posting data into the fleet management software.
  • Adheres to safety guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of six months of vocational training in automotive/vehicle mechanics and engine repair, with one year of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
