Seattle Children’s Hospital Animal Technician I - Cage Wash in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities: Conduct laboratory animal care and associated support duties under close supervision according to standards set forth by the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (the Guide) to maintain full accreditation status with the Association for Assessment & Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC). Job Posting Addendum: Please note there will be no animal care work involved in this role. * Responsible for processing both clean and dirty cages. * Provides daily maintenance of equipment (washers and sterilizers), including performance tests. * Maintains records of preventive maintenance tasks * Provides input for Cage Wash SOPs. * Responsible for housekeeping duties in assigned areas. * Helps supervisor with new supply and equipment deliveries & distribution. * Adheres to the cage wash facility traffic flow (clean versus dirty) * Assists with rack disassembling and other heavy equipment transportation * Performs other duties as assigned Requirements: Required Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent experience. Required Credentials: N/A. Preferred: Some laboratory/animal husbandry experience with mice and rats. Experience operating cage washers and autoclaves. Min to Max Hourly Salary: $19.25 - $26.99 /hr Min to Max Annual Salary: $40,040.00 - $56,139.20 /yr Salary Information: This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
