In this position you will....

Use multiple formats and structures to deliver a diverse suite of training that enhances the basic study of machine systems and operation in support of Volvo’s customers with a focus on our Key Accounts.

Opportunities to Excel:

  • Build relationships with Key Accounts staff to understand customer development needs and contribute to customer visits as a technical and operational advisor.

  • Create, develop, and implement appropriate programs to build technical and operational expertise within Key Account customer teams.

  • Innovate to deliver a wide range of instructor led packages, web-based e-learnings and virtual sessions, and on the job training guides.

  • Collaborate with the internal competence development network to enhance the customer training portfolio and support dealer development requirements as appropriate.

  • Stay current with all new products and procedures to ensure the highest level of technical expertise.

  • Exercise diligent oversight of the training material inventory of machines, tooling, equipment, and facilities.

  • Be a role model for safety and environmental care, in the classroom and the field, capable of safely operating all types of construction equipment in varied settings and conditions.

  • Represent Volvo’s values and vision, modeling integrity and credibility.

In this role as a successful Customer Training Specialist you will have:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in delivering engaging training and assessments to a workforce. Preferably mechanical, workshop or industrial training content.

  • Passion about mentoring, coaching, and developing apprentices and trainees with an interest in commercial business.

  • Computer savvy with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite and a willingness to develop professional business computer skills.

  • Curiosity, with initiative to develop skills to become a specialist in the field. Capable of designing a solution for the most complex training request.

  • Customer-focus, a flexible team player with the ability to frequently travel across the US and Canada.

  • We will be excited if you…

  • Are trade qualified as a heavy vehicle technician or machine operator with technical work experience preferably gained on Volvo Construction Equipment, Mack or Volvo Trucks & Buses or similar products.

  • Have experience as a trade or technical school instructor.

  • Have a Technical or University degree in a related discipline.
