Copeland Instrumentation and Controls Technician in Sidney, Ohio

AS AN INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:

  • Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and upgrade instrumentation (pressures, temperatures, electrical measurements) for Copeland performance test stands

  • Install/load, troubleshoot, and upgrade controls packages for different test equipment utilizing various PLC programming (Yokogawa, Rockwell, and others), computer operating systems, and network integration

  • Travel to our Manufacturing plants for annual audits, repairs, modifications, and installations of new/existing equipment

You enjoy multi-tasking and applying knowledge of the organization to advance multiple objectives. Your actions signify progress and you remain calm and composed, even when things are uncertain.

SCHEDULE:

This role has the flexibility of a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Associates degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Systems Integration, or Controls related field plus two (2) years working in field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge integrating instruments and systems.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 30% of the time

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Associates degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Systems Integration, or Controls related field plus five (5) years working in field

  • ETMS - Electronics Technician Maintenance School

  • Experience with AC power management

  • Various PLC or other programming experience

The newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for the air conditioning and cold chain businesses. Through our 30 years of scroll compressor expertise, our air conditioning-related products help bring comfort and convenience to commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. The cold chain business helps ensure that food safely and efficiently travels from farm to fork. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
