Shell Field Execution Engineer (Instrument) in Singapore, Singapore

What’s the role?

The assigned Field Execution Engineer will perform the following accountabilities:

  • Leads/Supports/Executes field Instrument construction activities (including management of contractors) to deliver safe and quality work according to schedule.

  • Where required to complete the planned works, work extended hour, and weekend works (Including during Turnarounds).

  • Perform the role of Authorized Engineer in Shell permit to work system. (Training provided) Verifies scope, work method statement and risk assessment are adequate for the planned work.

  • Coordinate and liaise Instrument related design activities such as technical queries with execution engineers, EPC contractors, and field implementation contractors.

  • Attend FAT/SAT and Functional testing to ensure instrument equipment’s are meeting the design intent & project premise.

  • To provide construction input to Project Engineering stage where requested, and to plan and execute the scope based on approved construction designs/drawings, up till handover to operations and start-up. Participate/Witness testing where required to.

  • Participate with site project team, EPC contractors and vendors during site walk to address the location plan, construction feasibility and brown field integration. Engage/Coordinate with relevant disciplines where required for delivery.

  • Responsible to verify in field to ensure feasibility of the design i.e., identifying terminal connection details in junction boxes/panels, cables trays and tubing routing etc.

  • Quality check for E&I document/drawings during engineering submission & also updating of document/drawings produced by execution engineers and engineering contractors. Update final markup for as-built. Field verification to ensure the as-built submitted are as erected on site.

  • A committed team player able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.

  • Ensure project comply with relevant HSSE legislative and Shell group requirements.

  • Report / Intervene any unsafe behaviour or unsafe operating condition observed while working in the plant.

  • Participate in project HSSE reviews as and when necessary.

  • Ensure that all staff and contractors under his charge adhere to HSSE rules & regulations and procedures.

What we need from you

We are looking for a talent that have the following:

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Instrumentation/Control) or equivalent technical certification.

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in delivering Instrument scopes in the capital projects.

  • Instrument engineer with strong experience in field instrumentation and system (DCS/PLC) experience.

  • A proven track record of results in project delivery environment.

  • Experience in the design and testing/verification of Instrumentation and systems in accordance with industrial standards
