MATERIALS SUPERVISOR - 2ND SHIFT DETROIT, MI - DETROIT CONNER STELLANTIS PLANT

The Materials Supervisor is first line support leadership assisting the self-directed work teams on the production floor. Incumbents in this position provide support of all materials functions by assisting plant employees in daily assignments, tasks, training, and work schedules to meet day to day expectations within a JIT automotive plant.

The Role: Your work will include, but not be limited to: Assists in directing and coordinating the work activities of employees engaged in picking material, part presentation, lineside delivery and shipping finished goods seats to our customer Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and team members as needed to ensure zero downtime Assists in planning and establishing work schedules and job assignments to meet customer targets Provides leadership to the materials team in daily operations and problem solving Other duties as directed

Your Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a related field Two years of prior automotive and/or manufacturing experience Prior experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination Ability to evaluate, develop and execute resolution plan when unexpected issues arise Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization Organized and able to prioritize based on fluctuation of need Ability to set expectations and hold team members accountable through all facets of the job Ability to proactively assess daily and future conditions to minimize disruptions within the plant

Bonus If You Have: Prior JIT experience in a Materials related role Prior experience working in a seating assembly manufacturing environment Previous leadership experience in a union environment.
