SYSTEMS ENGINEER I - ELECTRIFICATION SOUTHFIELD, MI - WORLD HEADQUARTERS

Systems Engineer I position within the Southfield Electrification Systems Engineering team. Lear is looking for an engineer eager to grow by actively contributing to the development of new electronic products (BDU / Battery Disconnect Unit) at the forefront of vehicle electrification. Reporting to the Systems and Systems Test Leaders, your main role will be to analyze system requirements, design/automatize test cases and execute them to verify product functionality. You will be involved in design and testing of Battery Disconnect Units inside of Electric Vehicles, from the concept definition until release for mass-production, being part of a skilled cross-functional and cross-regional team at the cutting edge of vehicle electrification technology.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities Analyze assigned System Requirements and define the test strategy and test cases for its verification Execute/optimize/automatize defined test cases to verify that the system complies with the requirements Report the discrepancies found during the functionality check of the product, provide testing support to the team for troubleshooting and verify the further resolution of the defects Maintain the Traceability Matrix between System Requirements and System Test cases Maintain test documentation updated according to the defined processes and procedures Develop test specification definition for validation and manufacturing (Proto, DV/PV, EOL) Support to Validation teams General diagnostic and identification of failure mechanisms

Experience Must Have BSEE (or equivalent) Strong self-motivation Strong communications skills Experience working in cross-functional teams Additional expertise Experience with automotive systems Working knowledge of High Voltage and equivalent lab equipment(>60V). Experience with Battery packs / architecture. Knowledge of automotive applicable standards & processes (i.e. ASPICE, ISO 26262) Knowledge of CAN and CAN tools Experience with automation tools or scripting languages (e.g. Labview, Veristand, python) Knowledge of industry related tools (i.e. JIRA, DOORS, Subversion)
