VRX, Inc. Routine Bridge Inspector in Statewide, Texas

VRX, Inc is a national award-winning woman owned civil engineering firm with offices in New York, Texas and Oklahoma and is seeking an Routine and/or Fracture Critical Bridge Inspector for ongoing projects throughout Texas.

This position is a Team Leader or Program Manager responsible for bridge inspection contracts throughout Texas.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

The Bridge Inspection Program Manager performing inspection work must:

  • Be a Professional Engineer (PE) with a minimum of seven years of experience in performing National Bridge Inspection Standards (N BIS) bridge inspections or management of NBIS bridge inspection contracts; and

  • has successfully completed National Highway Institute (NHI) training course # 130055, “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges” or # 130056, “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers.”

    The individual in charge of any bridge inspection team (Team Leader), regardless of

    type, must have one of the following:

      1.   Be a Professional Engineer (PE), who has successfully completed National Highway Institute (N HI) training course # 130055, “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges” or # 130056, "Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers" and has a minimum of one year experience in National Bridge Inspection Standards (N BIS) bridge inspections; or

      2.   has a minimum of five years of NBIS bridge inspection experience, and has

successfully completed National Highway Institute (NHI) training course # 130055, “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges”; or

  3.   has all of the following:

  • a bachelor’s degree in engineering from a college or university accredited by or determined as substantially equivalent by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology; and

  • successfully passed the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying Fundamentals of Engineering examination; and

  • a minimum of two years of NBIS bridge inspection experience; and

  • has successfully completed N HI training course # 130055, “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges”; or

      4.   has all of the following:

  • an associate’s degree in engineering or engineering technology from a college or university accredited by or determined as substantially equivalent by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology; and

  • a minimum of four years of NBIS bridge inspection experience; and

  • has successfully completed N HI training course # 130055, “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridge
