Amazon Senior Creative , Brand Innovation Lab AU in Sydney, Australia

Amazon Brand Innovation Labs is looking for an experienced multi-disciplinary creative to join our team.

In this role you'll be creating one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of global brands. You'll partner with Art Directors, design technologists, program managers and producers to create innovative work by hacking the Amazon canvas (Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, etc). You'll work on projects that benefit the end customer while pushing the creative envelope. And with new tech rolling out all the time, there's always an opportunity to create something innovative on behalf of our clients.

The candidate’s portfolio should feature interesting, insight-driven campaigns and ideas that solve an advertiser problem through a variety of different media channels, including but not limited to video, social, digital, activations, radio, and outdoor. This role will be client-facing, so having good presentation skills to share work in a succinct and compelling way is important.

Key job responsibilities

Concept, develop and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands

Create customer-focused solutions that deliver on advertiser objectives

Create campaigns under the guidance of Head of BIL AU, collaborating with internal teams, clients and external agency partners.

Have the ability to concept and create campaigns across a wide range of media types.

Have the ability to take those to fruition through copywriting and art directing as well as skills in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Keynote

Data-driven and obsessed with understanding customers and making work that delivers results

Present ideas and campaigns to internal stakeholders as well as external agencies and clients

Proven ability to ideate for film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential and social

Ability to manage multiple projects at one time to make aggressive deadlines

A day in the life

Partnering with Prime Video to create unique commercials leveraging talent.

Partnering with a design technologist to build a technical solution to help people find the perfect gift.

Leveraging customer data to build a unique creative insight.

Working through creative messaging feedback with Legal and PR

Presenting a campaign to brand clients and their partner media agency

Ideating with the team on innovative ways to get customers to learn about a new product.

Being a creative leader and advocate internally to teach partner teams the value of ideas.

About the team

The Brand Innovation Lab team is the internal group within Amazon that creates one-of-a-kind campaigns and activations for global advertisers, like Pepsi, Microsoft, McDonald's, Samsung, and Mars.

Using all of the different platforms within the Amazon canvas (Custom landing pages on Amazon.com.au, Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, etc.), we create campaigns that reach millions of Amazon customers across our digital channels and out in the real-world.

In Australia we're a small and scrappy team that is still building the future of Brand Innovation Lab in Australia.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Sydney, NSW, AUS

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of driving compelling creative strategy and execution at an agency or in-house creative team experience

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote

  • Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions

  • Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery

  • Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)

  • Experience presenting creative concepts effectively to senior executives

  • Experience in writing long and short form copy for a wide range of deliverables from TV scripts to banners.
