Join the technology company that's transforming the future of mobility today.About this Position:The Connection Systems North America (CS NA) team has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Product Engineer within our Electrical Centers (EC) Product Line. Under the direction of the Product Engineering Supervisor, the successful candidate will responsible for the design of one or more Electrical Center assemblies including the application of Bill of Design components as well as the design of new mechanical components required by the design.Responsibilities and Duties:•Develop Electrical Center (EC) products and assemblies using requirements from the customer, Aptiv Bill of Design, Bill of Process, best practices, and design guidelines.•Lead EC product development including the on-time completion of internal design reviews.•Create robust designs through application of all best-practice design analysis tools including Mold Flow, FEA, Thermal Analysis, and tolerance stack analysis within the constraints of cost targets, customer performance requirements and manufacturing requirements.•Apply GDT properly to both components and assemblies.•Prepare Validation Plans, DFMEAs, and review material for DFMs.•Collaborate with Project Management to development and manage timing for all mechanical components and insure all deliverables are met on time.•Coordinate with other functional engineering areas including Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Testing Services to insure requirements are met for all mechanical components and assembly.•Initiate cost estimates, design requests, RFQs, and all other documentation used in the DEC design process on-time and free of errors.•Create excellent technical presentations and lead presentation at the customer.•Attend customer design reviews, support Design Validation with part and assembly procurement and support any initial vehicle/bench builds.•Select technology for customer requirements.•Proto and production design release for tooling.•Continuous improvement and cost reduction of designs.•Support ME tool engineering by reviewing inspection report and provide timely feedback.•Design verification including but not limiting to mating part check, electrical match check.•Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basisBasic Qualifications:•Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical EngineeringPreferred Qualifications:•Master's in Mechanical Engineering•Basic knowledge of automotive, CV Electrical Electronic Systems Engineering products including Electrical Center Assemblies, Connectors, and related components•Knowledge of material properties and manufacturing processes for stamped metal busbars, terminals, thermoplastic, rubber, etc.•Ability to interpret the results of design analysis tools such as mechanical and thermal FEA, thermoplastic injection mold flow, etc.•Basic skills in Siemens NX•Product Design Engineering experience for Electrical Center products•Design experience with assemblies containing PCBs for power distribution•Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization•Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics•Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a global team•Ability to effec
