MKS Instruments Inc Fixed Asset Accountant in United States
A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Fixed Asset Accountant/Treasurer at MKS Instruments, you will have Fixed Asset responsibilities for the US and Canada to include: maintaining capital expenditure FIORI software system and reconciliation to General Ledger, tracking capital expenditures, record asset additions, disposals, adjustments in SAP fixed asset module, run monthly depreciation for various depreciation books, prepare and provide tax department with quarterly and year end reports, etc. In this role, you will report to the Finance Director - Americas.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews documents for accuracy, compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements which include proper authorization, documentation, general ledger coding, verifying amounts, and review of the sales& use tax. Follow all rules and principles defined by the company, respecting all workflow for approvals, and releasing payments.
Fixed Asset responsibilities for the US and Canada include:
Maintain capital expenditure FIORI software system and reconciliation to General Ledger
Track capital expenditures
Monitor CIP and work closely with project owners to ensure timely in service dates with proper useful lives and asset classifications.
Record asset additions, disposals, adjustments in SAP fixed asset module
Run monthly depreciation for various depreciation books
Prepare and provide tax department with quarterly and year end reports
Prepare rollforward reports and other month end close schedules
Maintain SOX controls and complete necessary SOX reports
Prepare and monitor CAPEX budget
File US personal property tax returns for various states
Conduct Bi-Annually fixed asset inventory
Assist with audit prep
Cash Management/bank responsibilities include:
Record bank previous day transactions and resolve discrepancies
Monitor revolver/loan balances
Actively manage cash in all currencies and locations, retrieve daily cash reports from bank and download lockbox deposits
Update bank statement processing in SAP FEBAN system and daily cash reports
Update weekly cash position in CashAnalytics system
Download monthly bank statements and prepare bank reconciliations
Prepare weekly domestic and foreign wire payments
Assist with monthly cash forecasting
Assist parent company with federal and state income tax payment submittals
Upload Positive Pay into bank for US checks
Maintain bank account information for US, Mexico, Canada sites and tax shelter
Assist with audit prep
Assisting with continuous process improvements towards increased standardization and automation together with the Global Process Owner Responsible of detecting conditions and unsafe behaviors in its job area following up with the near misses report, every time one of conditions is detected, in coordination with safety personnel. Compliance with quality, health, environmental safety and security standards of the organization.

Skills You Will Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or if degree is in Finance or Business, etc., then must also have 4+ years of related Accounting experience.
Minimum of 3+ years of Fixed Asset and at least 1 year of Treasury/Bank experience
Strong financial analysis skills
Strong Microsoft Excel skills is required
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational skills
This is a Hybrid position in Queretaro City
Preferred Skills:
3 years of ERP knowledge – SAP preferred.
Attention to detail and willingness to improve processes.
Motivation to grow with the company and a diligent work attitude.
