ASR Group/Domino Sugar Procurement Specialist in West Palm Beach, Florida

Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America’s first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table. We are America’s first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels. OVERVIEW

The Procurement Specialist is an ideal role for those looking to begin a career in Procurement and Supply Chain; the role receives broad exposure to the various disciplines within Procurement and successful performance can lead to career growth. The Procurement Specialist works as a key member of the Purchasing Team and is responsible for providing procurement related support to assigned categories across the business. Specifically, this role will address and resolve critical issues, research purchase orders, process buying transactions, and follow up with suppliers accordingly. The Procurement Specialist will be introduced to market analysis, contracts & negotiations, reporting, and projects while developing an in-depth knowledge of the company’s ERP system (SAP). The ideal candidate must have the ability to work in a collaborative team environment while maintaining positive business relationships with both internal and external customers & suppliers.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizes the company ERP system (SAP) to research and resolve issues pertaining to assigned customers and categories

  • Releases orders in a timely fashion while closely adhering to established company guidelines

  • Focuses on learning established processes and building knowledge of potential suppliers and their capabilities

  • Processes requisitions from multiple sites under assigned categories and/or for assigned expedite tickets

  • Works closely with Buyers and Purchasing Manager in preparing and coordinating agreements for assigned commodities and services

  • Assists Buyers and Purchasing Managers in evaluating, qualifying, and selecting suppliers based on quality, service, cost and capability

  • Ensures all agreements, purchases, and initiatives are approved by applicable Purchasing Manager or Director prior to action on behalf of the company

  • Completes special projects as assigned

  • Completes weekly and monthly reports for client groups and presents findings to Purchasing Manager or Director

  • Prepares and executes quotes (from more than one party, if needed) to meet deadlines

  • Participates in group brainstorming sessions in an effort to identify gaps or areas of improvement within scope of position

  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary business information at all times

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 0-2 years of applicable Purchasing/Supply Chain experience

  • Prior experience utilizing or knowledge of ERP Software is a plus

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

  • Degree major in Supply Chain, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field is highly preferred
