Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for performing accounting-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: entering general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports, and performing general analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general journal entries, ensuring accuracy of data.

  • Reconciling accounts such as cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and inventory.

  • Run income statements, balance sheets and other subsidiary ledgers to verify reconciliation and identify potential issues.

  • Lead monthly close and prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial variance analysis.

  • Perform Financial Planning and Analysis reporting, provide additional assistance as needed.

  • Assist financial support teams and operations.

  • Assist with internal and external audit procedures.

  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, including, but not limited to pivot tables, data analysis, and VLOOKUP formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction accounting.

  • CPA or CMA license (earned or in progress).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.
